• Engaging with male peers in social environments: Keeping up with the social banter as well as the all – important strategic issues.

• Breaking the Old Boy’s Club in a Feminine Way: Banter and sport are trademark bond-building tools for men. Techniques for not taking comments to heart; relaxing. Smiling along and playing the verbal tug-of-war.

Preparing the field

• Networking UP – Managing and Aiming Upwards: Techniques for strategically getting to know board members on your way up; engaging with them and building fruitful relationships,

• Building experience on your way up: Strategies to draw on experience of getting a non-executive directorship before seeking a position on the main board.
